Wedding & Event Information - 2008
Before planning your event, please read through all our policies. Most of your general questions about Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar’s wedding and event planning can be answered below.
Restaurant services
Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar is ready to assist you with all of your food and beverage needs. Our hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Wedding Site Inspections
Wedding site inspections are available by appointment and by walk-in. We do recommend appointments, to ensure that our our staff is available to answer any questions you may have. Please call (808) 661-9090 or email: Weddings & Events if you would like to schedule an appointment.
Changing rooms
As we are a restaurant, we do not offer changing rooms, however we do have spacious, comfortable restrooms. We allow for minimal use of them as long as it does not interfere with the rest of our guests’ ability to access and utilize them. Please keep guests to a minimum. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the restrooms.
Menu changes
We reserve the right to change menus as needed due to availability of products; we
will try to substitute items when/if any changes are necessary.
Menus
For parties of 20 or more set menus are required. For parties fewer than 20, guests may choose either a la carte or set menus. Vegetarian and children's menus are available, and we do require that vegetarian meals are decided upon prior to your event. Children's meals do not need to be pre-selected. The children's menu is viewable on our web site. Please inquire about vegetarian selections.
Wedding cakes
The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar has an exceptional Pastry Chef who can design and create the cake of your dreams. Please inquire for further information. All cakes delivered must be clearly marked with the party name and date of function. There is no cake service fee (for cutting, serving, plating of wedding cake) when your cake is ordered directly with The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar. A cake table will be provided to you at no charge.
Wine Service
Pre-selection of wines from our extensive wine list needs to be placed two weeks in advance to ensure availability. Maui County liquor laws prohibit guests from bringing wines and spirits into a licensed establishment, therefore all liquor must be purchased from the restaurant. Corkage fees are not allowed. Please e-mail us for current wine lists approximately 2-3 months prior to your event.
Bar Service
In order to streamline bar service, we request that there be no cash and carry sales for liquor and beer. We will present one beverage check per group. Cash bar service is available upon request and the following fee will apply:
Cash bartender staffing fee for up to 50 guests:
$100 plus tax and gratuity
Cash bar staffing fee for over 50 guests:
$200 plus tax and gratuity
Hourly bar rates are not available.
Service charge and tax
All food, beverage, set-up fees and incidentals that are ordered directly through The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar are subject to a 18% service/coordination charge (this includes decor, entertainment, incidentals, dance floors, wedding cakes, etc.). Tax of 4.166% and service charges are not included in set menu prices unless specified. Local tax rate and gratuity will be added to final food and beverage bill. Local tax rate is 4.166%. Gratuity/service charge is 18%.
Parking & transportation
LSG&OB is centrally located in the middle of Lahaina with Coach Bus loading and off loading directly in front of the restaurant. In addition, it has private and public parking facilities behind the building that will allow easy access for smaller vans and personal vehicles. Please refer to our map. The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar does not provide shuttle service, your Event Coordinator can assist you with the rental of a shuttle service. If required, we may also assist you with this process at no cost.
Table set-up and decor
Table decorations may be provided to us for placement on the tables if you do not have either a wedding coordinator or member of your family handling this. All items must be unwrapped, assembled and ready to place on tables. Fees will apply for decorations requested to be set up. All delivered items must be clearly marked with the name, date and set-up instructions, and given to the manager on duty. Standard table set-up consists of white linen, plates, glassware, silverware and a single votive.
Table configurations will be arranged according to the location, unless otherwise specified, with final approval coordinated by the client, wedding coordinators and the restaurant.
Table set-up in all areas depends upon the final size of your party and your specific requests. Due to space constraints and availability of table shapes and sizes, if you have specific requests that you want guaranteed, additional table rental fees may be incurred.
Designated host – Point of Contact
We request that there be one designated host/hostess whom management can approach with concerns and questions. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Please direct any questions or concerns to the manager on duty during the time period of your event. The floor manager will be your contact and oversee your function.
Wedding coordinators and entertainers are to follow the time lines designated by the wait staff and kitchen for food service. All menus and prices are subject to change and are based upon availability.
Rain Call
In the event of rain we reserve the right to move your group/function to our main dining room, and your indoor location will be determined by the manager on duty. Rain calls must be made 4 hours prior to your event. Once the call is made and your event area is set up indoors, the rain set-up is final. After the move we are not able to move you back outdoors.
Entertainment - general policies
Exceptions to or extensions of music/entertainment policies described below must have prior approval from The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar Restaurant management. Any overtime will be subject to a surcharge.
Entertainment - live music for non-exclusive events
For "non-exclusive" events, we allow live entertainment, provided it blends into the restaurant atmosphere (Hawaiian or light background music).
The following guidelines apply to live entertainment for "non-exclusive" parties from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.:
The Rooftop - up to two-piece acoustic duo playing Hawaiian or Light background Music
The Grand Dining Room - up to two-piece acoustic duo playing Hawaiian or Light background Music. Drums are not permitted in any restaurant area for "non-exclusive" parties. This restriction is imposed as a courtesy to our restaurant patrons who can hear the music in the dining room.
Entertainment - restaurant buy-outs
There are some restrictions for the type of music that is played between 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. if you are buying out the entire restaurant.
Entertainment - DJs
DJs are only allowed on the Grand Dining Room even if you are buying out
the entire restaurant. "High-energy" music (i.e., fast dance music) in The Grand Dining Room is permitted between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Entertainment - electrical power
Electrical power is available in all function areas, including on the Rooftop. The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar is not able to provide any AV equipment or power cords.
Entertainment - dancing and dance floors
Dancing is only permitted in the Grand Dining Room during a "buy-out" of the entire restaurant. A dance floor is mandatory for all dancing in the Grand Dining Room and involves a $150.00 rental fee, plus tax and service charges for the standard sized floor. Please let us know if you plan to have dancing at your event, so that rental of the dance floor can be addressed.
Curfews
Restaurant hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. We do hold a late night license, which allows us to operate from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with only beverages being served. Late fees will apply for overtime at a rate of $250 per hour. Requests for additional time must be made prior to your event. Maui County laws mandate that all outdoor entertainment must end by 10:00 p.m. Early start time is available at a rate of $250 per hour.
Guarantee
Guarantee of attendance is due 72 hours in advance of event. If not advised of a guaranteed count, the tentative number of guests will become the guaranteed count. No-shows on a guaranteed count are charged full price of the set menu.
Deposit and payment
Advance deposit is required for confirmation of reservations. The deposit amount
is equal to 30% of your event order total. Only receipt of the deposit
will confirm definite space and date for your event. If a deposit is not received within 60 days of your booking date, your date and space will be automatically released. A payment equal to 50% of the expected event total cost is required and must be received no less than 30 days prior to the event (i.e., food, beverage, rentals, etc.). Calculation of food & beverage deposit is based on an average cover price.
Billing
Billing for each function will be arranged and approved by the management at least 30 days prior to the event. Final payment is due at the end of your function. All corporate bill-backs are due within 30 days of service.
Cancellation policy on non-exclusive events
A 45 day advance notice will be required in order to receive a deposit refund, less 10% service fee. Cancellations within 15 to 44 days will receive a 50% refund. If cancellation is within 14 days prior to the event, the full deposit will be deemed "non-refundable." No-shows will be deemed "non-refundable."
Exclusive private parties (buy-out of the entire restaurant)
The Lahaina Store Grille and Oyster Bar Restaurant is available for private events. This means closing the restaurant and bar to the public, day or evening, involvoing a minimum surcharge and set-up fees. Please contact our management for more information. Buy-outs may start at 11:00 a.m. and must end at 10:00 p.m. Additional time is available at a rate of $250 per hour.
Exclusive event deposits (buy-out of the entire restaurant)
A deposit of 30% of the total cost of the vent will be required to confirm the space. 10% of this deposit is deemed "non-refundable" upon cancellation.
Cancellation policy on exclusive events (buy-out of the entire restaurant)
A minimum of 60 days' advance notice will be required to receive a refund, less 10%.
Cancellations within the 60 days prior to the event will be deemed "non-refundable."
